T42... TPM and Vista simply does not work!

so Lenovo has a Vista driver on the website for the TPM module in the T42... and when I install the driver the TPM is seen and listed in device manager, and enabled in the BIOS. however when i run Bitlocker from the control panel, my first error i receive is that a TPM was not found! whats going on here? Im using Vista Enterprise (the RTM... NOT a beta)

Check the Lenovo site from time to time for updates. We went through this in 2001 with XP. Really, unless the ThinkPad has a Vista-Certified sticker on the machine, I wouldn't load it. When software has had 6 months to adapt to Vista, I may get a certified laptop in the second half of 2007. ... JD Hurst

yes but they just released a vista driver... so why would it not work?

Because all of this stuff is new and the bugs have to be worked out. I ran Vista RC1 on my T41 natively and so much failed that I have given it up for a short while. ... JD Hurst

gotcha... although i AM running the RTM of vista business... im going to call ibm/lenovo and see if they have a clue...
