dvd problem

i dont have original win dvd software from ibm since i lost my predesktop area and still cant use my recovery cd's. so i installed interwin dvd 6. but the spinning dvd is too noisy...not like when i use ibm's win dvd. any of you guys have ever encountered this problem?

Not uncommon. There's an option (can't recall where it is, offhand) to slow the CD/DVD ROM down so that it doesn't make so much noise (Performance, Normal, Silent). Usually, "Normal" works fine on the drive with Win DVD but you can try "Silent".
