disappearing task bar???

disappearing task bar???
Can anybody help me figure out why the start bar or task bar across the bottom of my t42p decides to just disappear?? very strange and only after a restart does it come back and than for who knows for how long?

There is an 'auto-hide' function that may be turned on. Right-click 'Start', click 'Properties', and it's the second item on the 'Taskbar' tab. That's all I can think of . . .

There are also some instances where it can stay down and not come up even if you hover the cursor near it. To "force" it up, simply bind the Windows Key to something, like Right Alt, and press it.

-Move the mouse to the bottom of the screen until the mouse cursor looks like you're about to resize something.
-Stretch the Taskbar up, so that it is visible.
Note: this is the most commonly asked question by new users of Windows 98.
-To do this with the keyboard, type Ctrl-ESC, Alt-Space, S, and then use the Up Arrow to resize the taskbar
