My luck never changes... Sigh... Dead LCD..

Heya...

Just to share with the community what happened, i was working, and the display has gone black (when i adjusted it a bit go get a better view), after some of my analysis, i beleve that there is a contact loss just a bit to the left of the status leds.. if you keep some pressure there and push the microswitch for the power off of the monitor, it works, if you dont have any pressure the picture is just really really dark... Called IBM service, they told me that it is the wires that connect the mobo and the monitor, or that its the microswitch... And just in time when i have a pile of work and need it the most, my T41 goes bye bye... [censored]...

Any advice? Speculations on what it may be?

Yep, it's most probably the LCD cable. I assume your TP is still under warranty. Just let those IBM guys repair it, don't bother with it because you play with your warranty. They should fix it in a day.

It's the microswitch and the cable.... definitly... (well, if you don't open it and you don't break anything or do any damage they must give you in to the waranty, bcoz that ain't my fault if it suddently stops workin')

Yea, i talked to them, and they say if you are in such a hurry, your done in less than half a day.... let's hope that's true..
Yea it's still under waranty.. it's friggin 5 months old!

Btw, something else too.... it rarely happens in normal work... but, i found out that it happens if i have wireless and bluetooth turned on almost constantly! And yes, it gives out funny noises (fii, fii style LOL) from the cable part... i bet it's a short circuit on the antennae... so, no turning on that for me..
