New tabbook - when?

#1 Post by rgrossha » Wed Sep 08, 2004 10:58 am

The current tabbook (or is it tabook) carries an August date on it. Since the exact configuration I want isn't listed (and the IBM configurator won't let me build) I'm hoping that a newer edition will list more / different / my desired configuration.

Any idea how often new configurations become available, and when?

Thanks.

Rob

Roughly speaking, most new models are released spring-ish and fall-ish (when COMDEX was a factor, it was usually right around then). tabook is updated for both new models and for existing models as they are withdrawn (putting them into tawbook), so it may get updated more frequently than the model release cycle.

The TABOOK is due for an update this month since there are at least two new T42's, the 23735TU and the 23795VU (both with the same configuration):

Pentium M 725 1.6ghz
512mb RAM
40gb 5400rpm Hard Drive
14.1" XGA LCD
64mb ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
Intel 2200BG 802.11b/g Wireless
CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive

And I seem to remember that the TABOOK is updated monthly even if there are no model changes.
Thinkpad X200s w/ Ultrabase
C2D SL9600 / 8GB / 160GB X25-M G2 / BD MULTI / 12.1" WXGA / INTEL 4500MHD / INTEL 5150 / BT / AT&T WWAN / W7
