T43 Battery Maximizer question

#1 Post by TPadguy » Thu Jan 11, 2007 12:08 am

Other than the usual responses regarding System Update2, anyone have any ideas why it keeps trying to tell me that I need to install Battery MaxiMizer and Power Management features version 1.38 on a T43?

Also, on a side note is there anyway to remove from the Systyem Update the history of an installed package after it has been uninstalled? I guess I better get used to this because from what I hear from Lenovo people, the software installer will be gone very soon.

Another fine automated procedure from Lenovo!

HAve you tried to download and install these packages manually ?
You can download them from Lenovo's web site.
That update manager is not always reliable.

On a T43 (machine types 26xx), Battery Maximizer is only supposed to be used with Windows NT 4.0, not XP.

Unless you are running Windows NT 4.0, then that update should not show up at all. Regardless, I don't know how to fix your problem with SU2.

The update also shows up on my laptop since I last formatted it last month.

Thanks everyone. Yes, that is my point, why is a NT update showing up on an XP machine? The power manager should be handkling that.

In my haste I accidentally installed it and had 2 instances of it running. So, I uninstalled the 1.38 after I immediately realized that it is for NT. I usually pay more attention but was in the middle of multitasking something and right after I clicked the install button, I realized it was wrong.

Is there anyway to remove that from the installed programs history list, to reduce confusion?

That System Update is still buggy and they are discontinuing the software installer? Arrggh! After the intel wireless installer headache and waste of time I am seriously starting to wonder about Lenovo. Never had these problems when it was still IBM.

Still nice machines but the support is getting questionable.

Thanks all!

Thanks Hanson, at least I know it is not just my machine! Small consolation.
