Delivery date keeps getting pushed back =(

I ordered a 2373CWU three days ago. The availability at that point was 15 days. Then my status went from checking credit card to Item is backordered with a delivery date of 10/7. The following day the delivery date was changed to 10/8. Today the deliver date was pushed back again to 10/11 =( *sigh*

Does anyone know if there is a shortage on parts for this particular model ?

Yes, there is a bit of a shortage right now (my company wants a couple of thousand T40s and we're told it will be "a couple of months") but you'll probably get your computer before the estimated ship date.

I have the same problem. I ordered a 2379DXU from IBM in mid-August. The posted shipping date on the order status page on the IBM website has slipped from 28 September to 12 October over the past week. This is for the overall order. The itemized manifest, however, gives specific ship dates for the configured computer and for the one separately listed accessary (the IBM wireless card). These have remained at 20 September since the beginning of the order process. Anybody know why there is a disparity between the item ship dates and overall order ship dates, or which is more likely? I sent an e-mail to IBM asking for clarification, but have not received a reply.
