I did the upgrade over the weekend on a T40 and X24, I don't use access connections on any ThinkPad. Both have IBM/Atheros B/G adapters. I have not had any issues.

ok, but does this also support T41p Systems?

because
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-52527

doesn't show any support for it!

I'm a little bit confused now :?:

It depends upon which wireless adapter you have installed. The T41p did not originally come with any of those adapters. If you have one of the adapters listed on the web page, it should work fine. Well at least this is what I think. I could be wrong.

R50p came with the same adapter like the T41p!

T41p: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=2373GEG

R50p is supported - T41p not?

I was mistaken. I did not think the T41p was ever shipped with the ThinkPad 11a/b/g. Nevertheless, if you look at the driver matrix page for your T41p, you will see that there is no XP driver listed for the ThinkPad 11a/b/g. I am pretty sure this is just an oversight on IBM/Lenovo's part.

I noticed that the matrices and software installer don't show this version as an option any more for T40's and others. However, this driver should work with any ThinkPad whose BIOS supports one of the IBM adapters. It certainly works well on a T40, R51 and X24.

there was a downloadlink for ibm a/b/g cards before.
Probably they made a mistake and deleted it. I hope they'll fix it soon :)

i tried to install the new driver and the new AC.
i faught with AC 4.33 and the new driver for 1,5 hours!! grrrrr
NO LUCK!

look at this:
<5.0.100.112> (77WC69WW)
Driver version in Windows Device Manager
5.0.100.112 (Windows XP)
5.0.100.112 (Windows 2000)

- [Important]
From the version 5 of software, support for the following
wireless LAN adapter cards have been terminated.
- IBM Dual-Band Wi-Fi Wireless Mini-PCI Adapter (11a/b)
- IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter

The above adapter cards have been supported by the version 4
of software. The affected ThinkPad models with the above
adapter cards installed are as follows.
- ThinkPad G40
- ThinkPad R40
- ThinkPad T40/T40p/T41/T41p/T42/T42p
- ThinkPad X31
- (New) Support for Access Connections 4.2.
sh** - that's bad - now i have to search for the old driver 4.1.102.147 and an old AC

i'm very angry now - i hope they'll release new drivers for my T41p in the future too!
I paid a lot for it - if they wouldn't continue to support it ......

if you go here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4ZLNJB
it says "Required driver version or higher" (scroll down)
ThinkPad Dual-Band, 802.11abg, 802.11bg, 802.11abg II 4.1.102.147
and if you click: 5.0.100.112d comes up
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-52527

and here it says:

Very good sleuthing on your part. It's unbelievable that they don't make a driver available for your model on their website. I believe your best course of action at this point is to use Windows System Restore to bring your software back to the previous state. You may have to run System Restore from SAFE MODE. To start System Restore, go to Start > Help and Support > Pick a task > Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.

You should also have the option to bring the software to the original factory state. All the original software installation programs are located in a subdirectory of C:\IBMTOOLS\. You can run setup.exe of the appropriate software to reinstall it. Most of the directories will have a .XML file in them. Double-click on that file to find out about the software in that directory.

If I come up with any additional information, I'll let you know.

Here is another option for you. On the page for Access Connections, there is a section for Previous version downloads and a link to Access Connections 3.82 with wireless drivers.

Good to hear that you've your system fixed.

The BSOD Error code when using Driver
v5.0.100.112d is NTFS.SYS.

Don't know Why they are related.
No Problem with v4.1.102.147

As others pointed out, the series 5 driver is possibly going to support only T43/p no T42/p, etc. The weird thing is that the "IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II" is listed only with the newer driver (5.0.100.112d) here
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-52527
but not with the old one (4.1.102.147)
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67214.

I suspect they only forgot to list the card in the second web page.

Do know the Different between those 11a/b/g Card of T4x.
Mine is Z60t, ThinkPad WLAN Adapter 11a/b/g,
It's more likely need to use the newer v5 driver.
But I the v5 driver give me BSOD, v4 laterest have no
problem....??

So, Why's that....??
