Hi Guys,

I want to start a post for all those members out there who have experimented with their T4x series,
First and Foremost, has anyone customised the case, such as Paint, Airbrushing,
And on another note, has anyone modified the internal components, I've opened up mine several times to remove dust, Hair etc and noticed that the northbridge controller is an exposed chip, i luckily had a pack of zalman memory heatsinks (Blue) and added these to the internal chips of the main board, namely the intel, and ic's located near the pci slot,
Oh and by the way, i am currently creating a Real Carbon Fibre screen cover (the part that is currently made of titanium on the back of your laptop!) I will polish it, and hopefully it will fit as expected, If i succeed, i will consider making a few at a small cost to anyone interested Will upload some new pics soon for everyone to get an idea

There are several that have modded their ThinkPads. Use the Search button; choose Search for all terms, and do one search using the term Orange and user Toine, then do another search with the term Yellow and user underclocker. I once sprayed up etc. made a solid state ThinkPad 560X which I believe was purchased to be used in a recording studio and as far as I am aware, it's still doing that task today (it's used to record stuff, no noise you see...) Not the T4x series you will respect but in metalic jade it came out rather funky.

That involved a 2.5" IDE to compact flash adapter which cost a small amount and a 1GB CF card (which was a bit pricy 2-3 years ago).

Thems were those care free days of a lazy summer past, gassing everyone out with a spray can whilst we had a bbq on the go

I did a similar idea with my sony vaio TR1MP, i installed an 8GB microdrive for a giggle to test system performance, it was fast, however space was a severe shortage!!! but the TR1MP itself had a 1.8 inch 30 gig hitachi hdd installed which worked flawlessly, i have a few ideas in mind for my T41, im going to find a way of connecting some ultrabright 3mm Ice blue led's inside the cpu area (same effects as the dell xps laptops) it would mainly just to show off lol, but nonetheless would look quite sleek, i have two ideas in mind for the screen cover, i will go for the carbon fibre, but am also interested in polishing the titanium / magnesium, and would consider having ibm etched as a centerpoint, this is all ideas at the moment, but im currently looking on ebay for a second hand screen cover.
I also had some carbon fibre vinyl which i covered the palmrest in, it looked quite smart but i took it off in the end due to it having too much grip on the palms. I also want to install a small centrifugal fan in the PCMCIA bay to withdraw air out of the case, so thereso will be looking on ebay again lol. Maybe we should all think of mainly feasible idea's that anyone can do to the T4 series and post
