T42p Screen display problem
T42p Screen display problem
Hi,
May i know what display settings i should tweak to make my browsers (both firefox and IE 7) display websites properly?
Currently, my settings are 1400x1050, 32bit, 120 DPI and large font size.
I have an ATI Mobility Fire GL T2 card, with 128mb of Video RAM.
Running, Win XP with 1GB ram.
As u can see from this pic, some sites come up really bunched up, which affects my browsing experience very drastically.

Hope someone can shed some light as to the settings tweaks i can make to resolve the problem i'm having.
Thanks!

I believe this is a problem with the webpage coding. It is my belief you need to use a different browser to resolve your problem - either that or wait until the web page designers catch up with the times.
I have three different browsers on my ThinkPad. Normally I use Opera 8.54, but sometimes Opera will not display the page properly. Next I will try IE7, but sometimes it doesn't work either. Lastly I use Netscape 7.2 (Mozilla). Usually I can get the page to display properly in one of the three browsers. Case in point is www.mapquest.com. Mapquest works fine in Netscape, but not in IE7 or Opera 8.54.

Try this trick:
Keep pressed the Left Ctrl key + keep pressed the blue middle button of the Trackpoint + use the trackpoint up/down.
You'll see the font size decreases/increases
Alternatively you can use Left Ctrl Key + Ultranav (right portion) and the same thing will happen.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
I was fiddling around with my firefox settings and finally found a limited solution to my problem.
I set all the fonts to Verdana, and the min font size to "none".
That seemed to do the trick for the webpage "www.faxzero.com" which i had the most problem with.
Other websites are also displayed more as less as intended by the web designers.
To recap:
My IBM T42p lappy is set to 120dpi and large fonts.
Under Firefox 2.0: Tools : Options : Fonts and Colors: Advanced : "Min font size", i selected "None".
Now i'm a happy camper, thanks!
