In Vista, the amount of System Memory used as "HyperMemory" by the X300 went from 255MB (with 1GB of RAM) to 767MB (with 2GB of RAM).
While I have no complaints performance-wise, this seems pretty crazy and excessive. Does this mean I have probably a good 500MB+ of system ram locked up by "HyperMemory"? I'm using a single 1920x1200 display, and at most, this needs 256MB of texture memory to drive it well.
Does Vista allow the system to use part of that 767MB of HyperMemory for other stuff when the graphics aren't being taxed?
