Mini-Dock Ethernet Cable Passthrough Broken?

I own two mini-docks that I use with my T43 and I have been having some trouble with the ethernet cable passthroughs on both of them. One of them never worked out of the box but I only use wireless at home so it's not a big deal. The other worked fine for about 9 months until today when it just stopped working. In both cases I know that it is either the dock itself or the connection pins on the bottom of the computer as I can use the port on the laptop itself with no problem, docked or undocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A spray with lubricating contact cleaner on the dock connectors and the connector on the bottom of your ThinkPad would probably be a good first move.
