video card question

#1 Post by The Dude » Fri Sep 17, 2004 10:21 pm

I have a T41 2379dju. It has a 1400*1050 display and a Radeon Mobility 9000 32mb. My question is this: can the video card be upgraded? If so, what sort of upgrade options does it have.

Thank you.

Short answer
No.
You can upgrade the memory
and the processor(after your warranty has expired or you lose it)
the wireless carda
And you can upgrade the HD thats about it.

Why is that... is the video card integrated on the system board or something like that?

What's that blue chip next to the CPU? You have a dual Centrino Thinkpad?

The blue chip is the Northbridge.

It's Soldered on the board
Welded is a bit overkill.

Part of the chipset.

Well, actually this isn't my machine. I just copied the picture from one of my favourite Japanese ThinkPad-related sites...
