Monitors on PCI card (again!) with internal LCD

#1 Post by noetus » Wed Feb 14, 2007 10:01 pm

I have two analog monitors on an external PCI card (Nvidia GeForce 6200) in the Dock II of my T42. If I set the primary display to be PCI in the BIOS it works great as a TWO monitor system. Basically the drivers for the ATI internal LCD conflict and don't start. If I switch the primary display in the BIOS to be the internal LCD, then it works as a THREE monitor system (internal LCD plus 2 external monitors) but ONLY if I have the drivers for the internal display uninstalled - in which case it is just the basic VGA driver supplied by Windows driving the LCD. If I try to install the ATI driver (or Omega driver) then funny things happen - sometimes only one external display works, sometimes neither of them do (in which case I get an error in the Display Settings that the drivers are out of date - which is not true). So my question is, how to get the THREE displays working correctly? Is there another driver I can try for the internal ATI display? Or something else?
