Hey IBM released Update Connector V6.3 with support for SP2 though I am finding something very confusing in regards to its instructions on installation - it says in the installation manual for step 1:
1. Use Windows Explorer and locate the file "PMEMNT.SYS" on your system.
If you find PMEMNT.SYS on your system make a note of the folder where
you found it (you will need to know this folder later), make a copy of
the PMEMNT.SYS file, and save the copy in a folder you can access later.
After you have completed installing Update Connector 6.10 you will need
to copy the file you saved back to the folder in which you located the
original file.
I do this but when I run a search i get several matches... some in very sensitive locations such at windows/systems32 and dont want to remove them all does anyone know exactly which one to copy?
BTW, The webpage is here:

Installing the NEW update connector
The webpage is for V6.1.
I also installed V6.1 over my previous version, didn't see the "PMEMNT.SYS" instructions, it installed correctly and works fine on my T40 (it's slow, 5-7 minutes total duration, but it connects and works at least 90% of the time for me on a DSL connection).
I have SP2 installed and V6.1 still works fine (just picked up an Embedded Cotroller Program and BIOS updates in the last 2 days).
My scan for "PMEMNT.SYS" shows multiple entries but only 2 of them have changed recently (probably when doing an "Update Connector") ... the others were last modified 2000, 2001, & 2002.
The 2 which have changed recently are in folders :
C:\Program Files\IBM\Updater\serverworkfolder\6930
C:\Program Files\IBM\Updater\session\6930
Maybe this instruction about "PMEMNT.SYS" is a safeguard related to instruction #10 (If the following message appears, click No:
"Some files could not be deleted from the Update Connector directory. The files contain data from previously applied updates or log information and are not needed for the upgrade. Do you want to delete the remaining files?" ).
I always click "No" since I don't want the install to delete any history type files that might occur if I answered "Yes".
Just a guess here, but maybe they want you to save it and move it back as a precaution against accidently deleting the upgrade history file.

My system had seven references to pmemnt.sys in various directories. All appear to be the same file version, 4.0.1381.1.
The installation program for Update Connector 6.10 deleted the copy of pmemnt.sys from the \windows\system32\drivers\ directory during the update. Per the instructions I replaced the copy to that directory.
