dvd writer not working - recognised - ejecting

just bought a dvd recorder for the tp, swapping over was a doddle, but it doesn't show up on "my computer" and it won't eject

the green light next to the drive bay is alight though.

i suspect it's duff, but has anyone come across this before?

See if the fix in the ** New ** HOW TO's & FAQ's ** forum here will work for you. The fix is for a CD drive, but it may work with a DVD drive.
