Bluetooth drivers

#1 Post by sd_triton » Sun Feb 25, 2007 8:43 pm

Hey guys,

Long time reader, first time poster. I wanna start off by thanking everyone on this board for the wealth of information provided. It certainly helped me in my decision to pick up a T43 in '05, a decision I'm glad I made.

I recently picked up a pair of bluetooth stereo headphones, the Nextlink Spiders from radioshack. The headset works great with a bluetooth USB dongle but I can't get it to properly work with my internal IBM bluetooth module. Ideally, I would want to return the dongle and figure out how to use the onboard bluetooth properly.

Anyway, I'm in search of the proper set of bluetooth drivers. I've read on this board that certain Widcomm stacks work properly with A2DP. So if anyone can help me find Widcomm Stack v4.0.1.2800 or v4.0.1.3000, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Have you tried the official driver from Lenovo? T43's bluetooth doesn't support EDR, but A2DP doesn't require it.

I have tried the latest lenovo driver w/ the v5.1.0.2100 broadcom stack. With this particular driver, I am able to pair the headphones but the audio coming in constantly skips, not as if there's some interference, but surely a hardware/software glitch. The older widcomm stack(the one preinstalled on my thinkpad) doesn't support A2DP, but I am able to pair the headphones as a bluetooth headset, like one used for communications. Once paired, the audio coming through is of low quality mono.

Surely someone here has been able to successfully pair a set of BT stereo headphones with their imbedded bluetooth module and enjoy decent quality music wirelessly.

anyone? One can only hope.

ok this might sound a lil silly but here it goes

side note: i have only had my lappy for around 2 months.

i have a t43 2687-ddu, the bluetooth driver is listed for it and there is dis/enable bluetooth in the bios but the driver dont detect it and i cant manualy install it either, really odd. I never installed the BT driver when i was running XP, but my new cellphone has bluetooth with EV-DO DUN so i now needed it and just gave up and bought a BT dongle lol. has anyone else ran into this under vista? or could it be that the modem/bluetooth card war removed maybe?

I just purchased the Jabra BT8010 stereo headset for use with my "upgraded" Cingular 8125 winmobile 6 cell phone a few days ago. Had the same problems with it, skipping...audio slow down/speed up...etc..

A few registry changes fixed me right up. I'm not sure if the registry is the same under XP as I have not yet installed the Bluetooth drivers on my T42, but from a discussion over on XDA-developers.com, I used the following playing with the values of bitpool and now have a rocksteady stereo connection. will be trying my T42 later today.

Code: Select all

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Bluetooth->A2DP->settings

BitPool 0x1e(30) REG_DWORD (I'm using 0x2e)
MaxSupportedBitPool 0x1e(30) REG_DWORD (I'm using 0x3c)
JointStereo 0x00(0) REG_DWORD (for stereo, use 0x01 for mono )
