T43-New USB Devices not recognized

I have a T43p and x31, running on windows vista. My current usb devices all work fine. About a week ago, for some reason any new usb device that I try to install will not install. These are all plug and play devices so it should install automatically.

I called Microsoft and they say it is a ibm/lenovo problem since it is only happening on these two systems. I tried uninstalling all the lenovo updates from the past week but no luck.

Has anyone run into this problem? If so, any idea how to fix it. Thanks.

Just a thought on my part since I'm not running Vista yet but most of the PC magazine articles I've read say that Vista requires all new USB drivers.

Seems there are many older USB devices that don't have Vista drivers yet so the magazines weren't recommending Vista as an immediate need for upgrading.

Vista is supposed to ship with all drivers available...so I would suggest you visit the websites for the devices that won't load and see if they have Vista drivers for them.
