Suggestions for T upgrade and parts

Greetings,

Despite attempts at life support, I think it may be time to move up from my T21 800- and I'm open to any and all feedback. I basically type-and-send files, so i don't need the latest and greatest.

Mostly I'm asking about insights on the keyboard quality and feel -- the main reasons I buy Thinkpads as my mobile computer. I'm not yet convinced on the move to touchpads, so I've tended to favor the T2x series which still have the keyboard rest and no touchpad. I've also heard you can buy parts that cover the touchpad itself -- anyone know the part numbers or which models accept them?

Anyone who sends feedback gets an associate producer credit on my purchase (probably used -- if anyone ELSE wants to upgrade) ;-]
