Backlight won't stay on?

42P/15" UXGA

Yesterday it would only stay lit at lowest brightness level. Today it will not stay on for more than a few seconds at a time. If you push and release the switch above the blue "Access IBM" it will come up for a few seconds and then go dark.

Any thoughts and ideas would be very much appreciated.
