Is there any way to get the latest ATI drivers on a T41 with at ATI mobility 9000. The driver pack IBM is offering is several months older than the latest ATI drivers.

SOLUTION:
Download the latest Catalyst driver, This driver is for desktop graphics cards only, but get it anyway.

Next, download the Patje modder patch.

Follow the instructions in the Patje patch. Basically, extract the Catalyst drivers you your HD and then run the MOD program. This changes the setup information to allow the standard Catalyst drivers to install.

After rebooting, check your display settings. The color depth probably changed to 16Bit. You can change it back to 32Bit.

BONUS:
Once you have installed the new Catalyst drivers you will have the ATI control panel that was probably missing from your default laptop display drivers.

slight problem after the update, 1400*1050 is no longer a selectable resolution in my display properties.. 1360*1020 is as high as it goes... doh!

Any ideas? Might there be an .inf file where I can tell my lcd what it's capable of?

update: I installed the Omega drivers which do support this rez, so everything is all set now.
