Can anybody help??

When going into MS-DOS command how do you get a \ to appear. It doesn't work using the same keys when running normally i.e. in Word.

Can anybody give me any suggestions.

Many thanks

On my keyboard it's right on the same key as pipe ( | ) see \\\\

Unless I am missing something here.

Yes, thats exactly were it would be on an american keyboard, but that button is nonexistant on non us keybords because of the different layout of the enter key, so our '#' generate the '\' wenn us keyboard is set.

I think I have a US keyboard which is generating UK characters. Could it be that i'm running a UK driver and need to change it to US.

well the most easy way would be to look to the left of your Battery indicator:

there it should say either US or UK,

if you stated thet you live in the uk, windows will set the keyboard imput to uk by default.

US imput should also be installed by default and all you need to do is press the button (to the left of teh battery) and set is to US.

If that doesn't work right click on the button and go to configure, there you should be abble so set your keyboard layout as a default.

Dear DarkMark

Thankyou very much for your help, I have resolved the matter now. I just need to switch between the 2 keyboards when using MS-DOS.

Thanks once again
