Your T43 uses a PC2-4200 533MHZ RAM, if the one you mention fits in the slot it will be clock down to your T43 specs.

I think the price is a bit high, at this moment. If you go on over to Newegg you will see that you can buy a gigabyte of DDR2 Sodimm memory that should work in your machine for less than $70 delivered. Generally a one gb stick will cost more than 2x as much as a 512mb stick.

You can buy either PC4200 or PC5300. I bought a pack of 2 1gb Kingston PC4200 sticks (for more than they sell for at this moment) and they work just fine.

Some people have posted that the T60s can be finnicky with memory, but my sense is that the T43s are less so. If you read the customer reviews on memory sticks at Newegg, you can find posts from people who have T43s and t60s who report their experiences with the various brands being sold.

The OP is in Canada, so if $45 is in Canadian dollars, it's a pretty good price.

And yes, the T43 can use PC2-5300 (i.e. DDR2-667) memory. The T43 that I had used 2x256MB PC2-5300 for a while.
