Difference in weight between T and R equivalents

#1 Post by mouse@cheese.storage » Mon Sep 27, 2004 10:52 am

Hi,

Came across some R models this weekend while hunting to see IBM T-series Thinkpads. It seems like they ahve about the same spec as T-series, but then they seem to weigh a bit more than their T-series equivalent(according to tabook). I could at first sight not discover the difference which caused it. There must be some explanation for this, does any of you know ??

Thanks,

R-series is made of ABS plastic.

T-series are made of magnesium and titanium alloy. These materials are stronger, lighter (and more expensive) than ABS plastic.
