T43 strange battery problem

Hi all!
Some time ago I had huge problems with my T23 and was without a laptop for some time,
but finally I decided to buy a T43 2668-f3g and I'm very happy with it
But it has one problem...

When on battery and AC the battery does not charge...
When only on a battery it shows that the AC is connected...
When I plug in only the battery when the system is off the "charging led" turns amber like when you charge a battery...
The battery Voltage is 11,8V, 220 cycles about 3,7AH and should work for about 2,4H...
The seller told me that this battery worked on another system, so it should be ok.

Tha laptop is from january 2006 and I have a IBM warranty till 2009, but I don't have original papers for my laptop (it was bought in Denmark and I bought it in Poland) so my IBM warranty isn't working right ?

Any suggestions ?
hope it's not the motherboard... :/

Lookup the local IBM/Lenovo support number and ask them about the waranty status of the system. You may find that you can get warranty service without the original paperwork.

I'd also try contacting the original owner to get the paperwork.

If the system was bought in Poland, it is probably covered by "international warranty service", which means you may be screwed unless you send it back to Poland for service. Look here for warranty status:

The only times I saw symptoms like what you describe were cases where the MB was damaged by a spill behind the keyboard on the side near the power jack, in which case, the warranty wouldn't cover it anyway.

First it was bough in Denmark, then somebody sold it, someone shipped to Poland and I bought it again here...
It should have the international warranty, I chechked the status but
I contacted IBM and without paperwork I have no IBM's waranty.
Nobody knows where the papers could be
I also tested the battery, AC adapter on a T41 and some other batteries on my system... unfortunatelly it's the motherboard

I think that the only reasonable way is to send it back to the person
who sold it to me and find another one...
