New T43

#1 Post by dshorter » Wed Apr 04, 2007 5:32 pm

Greetings everyone! I just purchased a loaded T43, and have a few questions.

How hot is too hot for the T43?
How do you determine the LCD’s manufacturer?
The feature that is supposed to stop the battery from charging all the way to 100% does not appear to be working, even though I keep the monitor open in the task tray.

Any ideas on these items?

Thanks, and glad to join you guys!

Can someone at least post some links to potential answers?

Enter the type and serial numbers on this page, and copy-and-paste the part number for the LCD into the search box at the top right corner of the Lenovo site.

Hmm..

The search results took me to detailed replacement istructions, but no mfr name. I searched Google for the part no and came up with this:

http://www.lcds4less.com/ibm-laptop-lcd ... 6760.shtml

Still no refernce to the LCD's manufuacturer though. My search goes on....

Ok three or four hops later I verified that part no 92P6757(Mfr)/ 92P6760(FRU) is a SAMSUNG screen. Those are the good ones right?

Thanks for your patience. I'll try to be out of this newbie phase asap....
