My T41p is still under warranty so I want to take advantage of it:
I would like to get a new keyboard. The forward page key (for browsing) sits wrong. I have attempted to fix it. The micro switch (scissor) is damaged. I repair laptops for a living and can usually fix these, not this time. Also they key caps are shiny.
My battery only holds a 50% charge. It has since they day I received it.
I was hoping to make a phone call and have them send me the keyboard and battery. What is the best # to call and how is the best way to present my view. I do not want to send the laptop in for a simple 5 minute keyboard and battery swap. I am more than willing to send the old parts back.

Explain your problems and they should send out replacement parts.
Keyboards and batteries are CRUs (Customer Replaceable Units).
Please be aware that batteries are only covered for 1yr of warranty regardless of how long the laptop is under waranty.
Chris
i am in the same position as you. I actually have a T41p with a shortfan in it (that ibm did actually) because i had a regular T41 motherboard before... I ordered my own m10 longfan and arctic silver (i hope it doesnt void my warranty) that i plan on doing myself
I always get [censored] off at my NIC wireless a&b ver. I can never get connected. It has always been a problem. So i actually ended up picking up a D-link PCMIA card which is fine and disabled the ibm NIC. I fancied about doing this myself with ebay and do a double whammy and get bluetooth as well but i wonder if i can take advantage of this warranty i still have about 1.5 years left according to the site. Im not sure i can considering my position...

Batteries are covered for the first year of warranty, assuming you have a valid model/serial number. The keyboard wouldn't be a problem either. PM me if you would like replacements.
