Incredible System Migration Assistant Annoyance?

I did a recent update of the ThinkVantage software on my T42, and it has rendered the computer nearly unusable:

Anytime I right-click on ANYTHING on my desktop, or perform any mouse gesture (for example, dragging a file from one place to another), some kind of System Migration Assistant install process is initialized.

It's a never-ending and impossible-to-complete loop: It's trying to install SMA, and can't find the required file. I don't want SMA, and don't need it.

I have no idea how this got attached to these common mouse gestures. Anyone experienced anything like this?

To your last question: No.

To your earlier questions, it may or may not be a ThinkVantage problem. I have SMA installed; I don't use it particularly; and it causes no problems.

Mine sits way down in Add/Remove Programs under "S" (i.e., there is no vendor label prefixed to it). Try removing it and then restarting to see if that helps.
