Help! Battery problem on brand new T42p

Hi,

My brand new T42p KTU with 9 cell battery is showing 2:36 mins remaining after a full charge. I was expecting something in the 5 or 6 hour range for the 9 cell. I just unplugged it about 10 minutes ago and its already down to 88%!! Is this a defective battery? Please click on the links below is see two screenshots of the battery info.

I cannot believe how many problems I have had with my machine sine I received it !!!

Any help is much appreciated.

Try running Battery Maximizer Wizard, and try setting the profile to super power saver. Also what's your averige wattage (on the 1st tab in Bat. Information).

I have run the optimizer and selected the super power saver, it now shows 3:48 which is much better... (but the screen is so dimm in that mode), but that still doesnt seem like what every one else is getting on the 14 inch screen. The average Wattage seem to be around 10W.

I found out, that on my 14.1 SXGA+ LCD the difference between the brightest and dimmest is around 10W and my wattage is approx 17W. I have the 6cell battery and shows around 3:50 when fully charged
