CD-RW backup/activex

#1 Post by mattsoy » Fri Oct 01, 2004 4:29 pm

this forum newbie wonders how to back up his T40 laptop hard drive... unfamiliar with the CD-RW software, which Bill Morrow has now identified for me as Intervideo. But when I opened this application, I get a CD player not a backup/burner capability. Don't even know what variety of CD-RW IBM has installed on this machine, let alone have to use it.

Meanwhile, followed the frequent FAQ suggestion that I visit the IBM support site where my system would automatically be scanned and identified... but got an error message telling me I need to install ActiveX using a link which, of course, didn't appear on the error message as it was supposed to. So what do I do to download ActiveX?

Thanks for any help.

Intervideo WinDVD is a DVD player. The CD burning software is IBM RecordNow. I don't use it personally so I don't know if it can do a backup image of your hard drive.
