Failed R&R backups

I have an R & R backup scheduled on my TP43p for midnight each day. It attempts this backup each day, but each time it runs I get a series of messages about being unable to backup files in one particular directory. I click on "skip" with each notice, and the backup presumably continues. However, the name column of the "view all backups list" shows only the word "scheduled" for each day and there seems to be no evidence of the daily backup having been made at all.

The failed directory contains a spyware program (Spysweeper) which normally loads during each login. - I had needed to re-install the program once (before setting up the Schedule) because it didn't function correctly. It now seems to work fine, but R & R does not, although it appears to have done a base install before the spware program was re-installed.

Is there any way to verify whether or not a backup has been made? Is there any way around the failed backup problem, short of exiting the spyware program every day?
