SXGA+ Screen get eye strain easily

my T43 came with SXGA+ screen which i am loving it more than X60s...
well, when surfing net for few hrs, the reading font size seems to be small and straining my eye. i am using IE7 and Maxthon Browser.
Everytime i do open the IE7, i would need to manually press to magnify for 125%, is that the way to set the magnification to 125% in IE7 as a default when open it?
which browser can do that? i don't mind using Firefox if it does offer this function!

I am getting eyestrain trying to read your signature. Can you make that any smaller?

The following has worked well for me on my T42 with SXGA+:

Open the Display Properties, in the Settings tab push the Advanced button, and in the drop down DPI Setting menu choose Large Size (120 DPI).

This will increase the size of all fonts associated with Windows programs by 25%.

After getting used to SXGA+ I actually find that it is much less straining on the eyes because the screen image is that much sharper, i.e. ca. 1.5 megapixel vs. 3/4 megapixel for XGA.

To add to the suggestion by danieldavid, see this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=23853 and my post from Wed Apr 26, 2006 1:35 pm in it. It made things very comfortable for me both on 15" and 14" SXGA+ screens.

Some of the fonts don't get set right with the drivers on the thinkpad install CD (and maybe the stock XP as well). If you start the accessibility wizard (start/programs/accessorise/accessibility), click next and choose the default font, you will get to a screen where you have the option to change display settings. Turn off the option to change the font size. On the next screen "set wizard options", select nothing. Keep hitting next until you are done - at some point you get a warning that you changed nothing. Then finish. I found that many of the fonts in explorer and other windows improved a lot.

gunston, see if turning off Cleartype helps. It certainly helped me.

With Opera, you can set a default zoom anywhere from 20% to 1000% that will always be there when you launch the browser. Opera is my preferred browser.
