warranty on used T40

So i saw the previous thread about the warranty server being down, and thought to myself 'hey now! that seems like some fun, let me check to see if my recently purchased used T40 is still under warranty'. Well blow me down it is for another 10 days, so does anyone know if the warranty only applies to the original purchasee, or is specific to the machine no matter who owns it?

also, anyone know how much the 'warranty upgrade' is?

The warranty goes along with the computer, not the owner. The warranty extension is just that - an extension of the original factory warranty.
