#1 Post by benkay » Fri Apr 27, 2007 11:08 am

I have a T-43 which has the S-CABLE plug
i bought a cable which has the RCA at the other end
what else do i have to do?
Dual screen? External screen?
I do use the FN-F7 to change to external monitor but that doesnt really work

please advise.

Welcome to the forum!

This is probably not the only way to do it and there may be better ways but what I do is, hook up my s-video cable, then right-click the desktop, go to properties, then the settings tab. You should know see two screens in the gray portion of the properties window. One with the number one on it and another screen showing a grayed out number two. Select the number two screen and select the option of "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." Click Apply. Your screen should go black for a second or two then you will see your desktop extended onto your tv.

If your T43 screen just goes black for a second or two and then nothing appears on your tv, try closing any unnecessary programs. My desktop has trouble extending onto my tv monitor if I have VLC or windows media open, even if the program is not playing anything.

Another caveat, you may encounter that once your movie or whatever is on your tv, the program may just be a black screen where the video is supposed to be playing. To prevent this, stop the program, drag it onto the tv, THEN click play. This has worked reliably for me using VLC media player, so your experience might differ.

Good luck
