T42, no sound

#1 Post by yanqui » Thu May 03, 2007 4:41 pm

With no new hardware or software installed, user suddenly lost sound. Device appears in device manager, but "delete" or "uninstall" is not an option. In MusicMatch or in Windows Media Player, when we try to play a file, we get an error, "No audio device found." I have downloaded the latest updates and drivers, as far as I can tell. Is this something you've seen caused by something in particular, and does it have a cure? (Please say yes!)

We're in the music industry and having to present music without sound on your laptop could be a little embarassing!

The driver downloads are usually not self-installing. Did you install them after downloading them?

You could also try un-installing your current drivers and/or SoundMax?? from Add/Remove Programs.

Yes. I know that I said I'd downloaded them, but I meant to say that I have downloaded and installed them.

Didn't even think to look there. I also didn't go to the Lenovo site to see if there's something upgradeable there.
