rundll32.exe is using up all my CPU power on my T41

#1 Post by bunder » Wed Oct 06, 2004 1:49 pm

My T41 is getting really slow at various times of the day due to the rundll32.exe being used.

I know it is some sort of trojan/virus that seems to be on my system and I have tried various software to remove it: Norton, Ad Adware, AVG etc.

But no luck.

It is eating up something like 99% of my processor.

Has anyonre else had this problem and how did you eventually manage to solve the problem.

thanks

Looks like it was something to do with the IBM maximiser. I have now turned it off and also removed it and so far everything seeems good.

I wonder how many other people are getting fed up with the slowness of their Thinkpads because IBM hasn't thought out carefully what it should be doing?

I think IBM fixed that problem with a new version of Maximizer. I'm not certain your observation about IBM software is entirely accurate. If you review it (like you should Windows and every other app) and set it to suit you best, their stuff should work just fine. It does for me. ... JDHurst.
