No sound from new T43

#1 Post by mcr68 » Mon May 07, 2007 6:32 am

all I get is a clicking with internal or external speakers. I have deleted the driver and re-installed. No clicking after delete and clicking when re-installed. I have tried sound from several sources. DVD, picture plays but not sound, internet no sound.

I am not sure what to look at next......

Ideas?

Are you running Windows XP ?
I know sound can be really tricky with Win2K, for example.
T43 2668-92G (upgraded to 1GB RAM) (don't have it anymore)
X60 1709-H6U (upgraded to 2GB RAM)
T60 1951-A47

1. Make sure XP is up to date.

2. Download drivers from here (lenovo T43 download page)

4. Make sure in Device manager, there's no yellow sign beside sound.

3. Thirdly make sure your notebook sound hasn't been set to mute throughout this period.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Did you accidentally press the MUTE button on the keyboard? Many people, including myself, have made that mistake.
