Thinkpad T42 Hibernate/Standby options not available

#1 Post by Trazza » Mon May 07, 2007 4:42 pm

Hi

I have recently rebuilt my laptop with Windows XP home edition and don't have the option to Hibernate or Standby. I've downloaded and installed the Power Management software on the Lenova site
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4GXPEG
but still no joy

Any suggestions appreciated

Tracie

I've installed the thinkpad config.

I've checked -> control panel -> thinkpad configuration -> power management -> advanced, which appears to be identical to ->control panel -> power options

I don't have any options to hibernate or standby. When I click on Start -> turn off computer, standby is greyed out

Just in case anyone has a similar problem, I managed to find out what the problem was, in my case I had the wrong Video driver installed.

The standby and hibernate options are now there.

thanks for the tip. I have a t23 with the same situation (when I go to turn off computer the Standby option is grayed out).

I will check my video driver and see if I have a problem there.
