T41 VGA out

I just recevied my t41 about a week ago. I really like it.
But I was just wondering, does anybody use the VGA out on the laptop to run dual monitor setup or something? If so, how is the quality of the output?
I am running a samsung 213t at 1600x1200 and the quality isn't very good. Text are fuzzy..I just can't get it sharp like a desktop vga out. I know I can use DVI...but I rather not spend the money on the docking station. thanx.
