Are T43's available for purchase as new in Toronto, Canada?

Hello,
I'm new to the forum here. Seems like a great place to share and obtain info regarding Thinkpads, so I signed up.

My question is regarding the availability of new T43's.
My brother bought one new last year in March 2006, and I must say it is an excellent laptop. Therefore, I would like to purchase one for myself.

I'm in Canada, and have checked the Lenovo, Insight, and CDW vendors to see if any are available for purchase. I must have a SXGA 1400x1050 screen resolution.

When I checked the Lenovo website, there are no more T43's listed and only T60's are available.

With CDW and Insight, there are T43's available but not with the screen resolution I need. And the prices are way too high it seems ($2500 + CAD). I would assume that with the arrival of the T60, the remaining T43's that are available would go down.

Also, I am set on procuring the T43. Although I cannot make any judgement on the T60, I have obtained feedback from colleagues who are using it and say it is sub-par compared to the earlier T series.

If anyone is in Canada (I'm in Toronto), and knows of any vendors that I can purchase a T43 from, please pass the info along. I would greatly appreciate it.

The Lenovo Canada Clearance webpage has had some T43s for sale over the past couple of weeks, but it is a hit or miss as they are in limited quantities and may never be listed again http://caipsgws001.can.ibm.com/store/pa ... earance_ca

I purchased a few T4x models from Metafore in Canada, but I think they have run out or are fast running out. I think my next laptop purchase will have to be T6x, but I don't yet know for sure.

Thanks for the info, I checked out the Metafore website but it appears the company is primarily an I.T. consulting firm.

Also one more question: does anybody know if Lenovo has officially stopped production on the T43?

I've searched, and companies like CDW and Insight have some but not with prices I'm comfortable with. Lenovo only lists T60's on their website, and no T43's.

T43's are not actively produced anymore. Any stock you find now will be leftovers......
