Approximately how old is a T40 now?

The ThinkPad I just got for work is a T40. I'm curious as to about how many years old that computer probably is now.

Turn it over, and look at the date (YY/MM) next to the serial number.

Failing that, item #1 in the FAQ.

My T40 was born September 2003.

The T42 came out around May'2004, so surely T40 was much before that...

T40 came out around 2001 if memory serves me correctly...

Check that memory!

T40's -> March 2003 and later

T41's -> October 2003 and later

T42's -> May 2004 and later

T43's -> Feb 2005 and later

I belive there was overlap of manufacturing between many T4x models.

(In 2001, T21's were released!)
