How to make a bootable recovery cd T42

#1 Post by ufoonlinevn » Mon May 14, 2007 12:25 am

I accidently deleted the hidden partition on T42 and more worse the warranty period is expised so I cannot have recovery cd set from IBM. Fortunately, I recently downloaded from internet a set of recovery, including a cd and dvd. But I don't know how can I use this cd set to unrecover the hidden partition ( as I know, I can make this hidden partition reappeared from this kind of cd set). Could anybody help me how can I use this cd set, for example to make it bootable or whatever to make it using?
Thank you

Welcome to the forum!

Can you boot your ThinkPad from the downloaded CD or DVD?

The recovery CD should boot your ThinkPad. If it does not then the reocvery CD is not working properly. You will need a properly working recovery CD set.

Brad, the problem is if you copy your recovery set to your computer, and from that you make a set of cd to make it bootable, do you know it?

If the CD was properly copied I don't see why the CD will not start the computer. If you only copy the files that most likely will not work. The best way is to make an image such as an ISO image of the CD. From there most any program can make a CD of that ISO image. There are probably other ways to make the CD bootable. I am not familiar with any other way.
