How to return to IBM?

#1 Post by teknerd122 » Fri Oct 08, 2004 1:32 am

So...is there a way to request a return through IBM.COM? I can't find anything on the website regarding returns (even after I logged on). Gosh, just when I though nothing could get harder than BUYING from ibm, I have to go through this... HELP PLEASE!?!?

Call and get a return authorization number.
It's really not that hard.

Call Customer Service or Tech support, they will help. The numbers are on IBM.com although you have to hunt around a little to find them.

not returning thinkpad...just an accessory for one. I was hoping to get their travel mouse, but ordered the scrollpoint, instead. My IBM rep said he'd do the RMA for me, but I haven't heard back from him and trying to get him on the phone is quite a task. Thanks for the responses, people. I wish IBM had a better website...how can they expect other companies to have them run their e-businesses when their own website is so confusing. yeesh!

your profile does not show where you are located..
just call most anyone..
from the help line to the sales line..
have the order number or a copy of the invoice..
and ask for an RMA number..

FWIW, somethings are too small and low cost to bother with on a return..
handling exceeds the cost of the item..
so sometimes they just credit you the $5 or $10 and let you keep whatever it is..
(don't all of you start ordering $5 items and calling to return them since this sort of thing does not happen all the time!)
