Paging file size
Paging file size
Just upgraded my T42P to 1GB with Crucial momoery. To improve performance, should I turn off virtual memory to have zero paging file size? Or leave it at the original 768MB?
It's usual to make the page file 1.5 times the amount of RAM you have and to set the min and max to this same number (prevents fragmentation of the page file as it moves around across the drive).

If you surf the net, listen to mp3's keep it x1...
If you are in doubt... use 1.5
If you do a really memory consuming job (multimedia or video editing... go x2)
I have 1.5GB and disabling the pagefile works just great. Give it a try, you shouldn't get into trouble. With a tool like CachemanXP you can monitor the amount of free RAM as well as the usage of the pagefile (if enabled)
