#1 Post by wanna_IBM » Fri Oct 08, 2004 7:00 pm

Well, I received my T42p and all I can say is wow, what a machine! If you are hesitating, go buy it you wont regret it. Night and day difference in quality compared to Dell.

Mine will be here on Monday, T42p also, I can't wait!!! I'll be selling my Dell M60 on ebay next week. The Dell was ok, but I really didn't like the widescreen, just want wanted a 15" 1600x1200 workhorse and Dell doesn't make one of those.

uneven brightness?

#5 Post by cormac » Sun Oct 10, 2004 4:35 am

I've had my T42p 2373-HTG (1.8GHz,1GBRAM,15'',FIREGLT2) for a couple of weeks and recently ran 3DMark05 - without restarting the machine (not very wise...) - resulting in a screen freeze with dark grey tint all over the screen. Before aborting and restarting the machine (and redoing the test) I noticed that the brightness was not even: on the left edge there were three brighter segments (perhaps representing elements in the panel) and in the lower right corner the brightness was increasing towards the periphery. In normal usage I have not yet noticed this.
I do regard this, however, as properties inherent to my hardware.
Am I mistaken? Should I expect the screen to be replaced?

The scores:
3DMark03 2625
3DMark05 960
AquaMark03 2259 GFX, 8769 CPU, score: 20007.
