HI and problem with my T43 Ambit wireless adapter
First of all Hi, new guy here. Now my problem. I have a Thinkpad T43 2668 that had the wireless disabled. I tried the driver from Lenovo with no luck. I popped it open only to find there is an Ambit T60H786 wireless adapter rather than Intel. I searched long and hard for this driver but only came up with one source at driverguide.com. I downloaded the driver unzipped it and when I tried to run it - nothing. Well not exactly nothing as a window flashed for about 1/10 of a second and that's all that happened. Why is it so hard to find a driver for this? Anything that is going to cost me money is not an option right now so I would really like to get this thing going.
Thanks
Thanks

You said disabled? Can't you just enable it?
For drivers:
Install Lenovo's System Update from Here, I believe it should take care of it.
Otherwise look through this page manually to see what you need.

I tried that and it didn't work the wireless driver on the Lenovo site didn't work either. My wife bought the laptop when she started a new job and their people set everything up on it but disabled the wireless because of their security policy. She has since left and they removed their software, data, etc. We got the laptop back with just WinXP pro on it and the wireles disabled. Its not seen by the device manager.

Strange.
Thinkvantage usually installs all required drivers and softwares required by your system.
I suggest you do a Windows update to see if microsoft lists any potential drivers for your wireless.
On the last note make sure they have not disabled it from the BIOS. Start from a cold boot(from computer turned off), hold F1 key to let your thinkpad enter into BIOS. Go to Network to see if there is something to be enabled beside Wireless option.

Windows update didn't change anything. I tried the BIOS early on, and the wireless is hidden and won't let me change them - looks like this on the screen:
Internal Wireless Device [Hidden]
Internal Bluetooth Device [Hidden]
Maybe if I removed the CMOS battery I could reset the BIOS?

Well disconnecting the CMOS battery was not a good idea. Seems there was a supervisor password on it and I couldn't even get into the BIOS. Called the IT dept where my wife use to work and they gave me the password and I was able enable the wireless in the BIOS. They should have disabled the supervisor password before they gave back the computer to us. Anyway as soon as I booted into windows it saw the wireless right away and I was able to connect. Life is good again. Thanks to all for their replies.
