Two T42 questions

Hi guys! I'm looking to buy an IBM T42, however I've got 2 small questions:

1. When using a projector, is the projected image also still visible on the TFT screen? Or does the TFT go black? It might be usefull to know that the model I'm after has an ATI Radeon 9600 graphics solution.
2. Is it possible to switch the optical device for a second battery?

to be entirely sure: does the first yes apply to the "When using a projector, is the projected image also still visible on the TFT screen?" or the "Or does the TFT go black?" part of the question? thx

I have done many pp presentations and thinkpads can do both...either blank screen or both screens on at the same time. ---great feature, you don't have to be looking up at the wall behind you to see where you are.
