Bottom right hand corner says T41

Type on bottom and in diagnostics says 2379 which the IBM Website considers a T42..

What the heck?

Do you have the model number? The full model number has 3 more characters after 2379.

If it's a 2379-DJU or 2379-DKU it's a T41 Express model.

Model 2379 indicates Express models and there are 2379 T40s, T41s and T42s.
