a/b/g Mini LAN PCI Card & Cisco VPN

#1 Post by Tommms » Tue May 29, 2007 2:53 pm

Hi All,

I have a T42 with the a/b/g mini lan PCI card installed. whenever I install Cisco VPN, the mini lan card will be disabled, and when I press fn + F5, the radio shows off, and cannot be turned on.

After I uninstall Cisco VPN, everything returns to normal.

Is it because my Thinkpad is trying to use Cisco VPN as the physical card that connects to the internet?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I know first-hand from experience with many machines configured like the one you describe that the Cisco VPN works fine with the system you mentioned.

What you describe is a pathology which sometimes develops between pieces of software. There is no shortcut to fixing the problem. One must uninstall the Cisco VPN, ThinkVantage Access Connections + Profiles, Power Manager, Hot-Key Features (and its subparts) ... and then reinstall each of these.
Good luck.
