The laptop isn't here yet, FedEx says the 19th... I can't wait for that FireGL video card!!! It's a shame I had to say goodbye to my beloved T30, which developed the apperantly not-so-uncommon problem of the 2nd memory bank breaking down (outside of warranty)... So my question to all the T4x owners here is -- What common long-term problems should I check for, before I entrust my digital life to this T41p?? I already read about the firmware update for early hard drive failures, what other issues do T4x's run into?

I only have two suggestions for you.
1. Download all the latest drivers.
2. Install a clean copy of WinXP without the all the IBM fluff (if you're never going to use it).

Enjoy!

Probably you may need the latest recovery pack in a cd which you don't get from IBM. But, Bill, the owner of this can send you one for $30+shipping. It's better you know the IBM tools first, and later try to install a clean XP if you don't know any of them already. You can't compare it with T30.
